As organizations contemplate when, how, or even whether to return to the office, firms, corporate law departments, and organizations of all sizes are facing several somewhat competing questions:

  • How do we convince people to return to the office?
  • Should we return?
  • Is there a way to combine in-office activities and opportunities to work from home?

In this webinar moderated by legal industry analyst, Ari Kaplan, panelists Barbara Dunn, a principal at Gensler, Maureen Harms, associate general counsel and managing counsel at 3M, and Suzanne Schwartz, the senior office administrator and paralegal coordinator for Ogletree Deakins in Milwaukee will address:

1. The Benefits of Being Remote. We've proven that remote work is viable—even preferable in some cases. Whether with duct tape to "keep the trains running" or by rapidly adopting new technologies, we've created systems for more efficient, collaborative, and innovative ways of working. Our conversation will look at:
    • Whether this model is sustainable over the long term.
    • If certain roles are better suited to working remotely than others.
    • What teams may lose by not being together in the same space.
    • How remote employees can contribute and benefit from firm/corporate culture, engage in training and development, and foster apprenticeship/mentorship relationships.
2. Attracting Individuals Back to the Office. The new workplace will likely look like the old one, but it will be essential for organizations to incorporate the lessons they learned over the past year, with a particular focus on:
    • How organizations can optimally catalyze and capture the benefits of being together.
    • The initial roadblocks to returning.
    • How firms/corporate legal teams can successfully encourage employees to come back to the office and make them feel safe.
    • How organizations are properly leveraging incentives, programs and policies, and communications.

This event is open to the public and there is no registration fee. The session will be recorded.
