Anita Carr ShapiroAnita Carr Shapiro died on September 29, 2020. Elected a Fellow of the College of Law of Law Practice Management in 2018, Anita Carr Shapiro died following a battle with cancer. Anita devoted her talents to the Practising Law Institute for 20 years, the last five as the first female President in the organization's 87-year history. She practiced as a litigator in New York City after receiving her J.D. from Temple University School of Law. Anita received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and attended the Columbia Business School where she earned the Certificate in Business Excellence from the Columbia Business School Executive Education Division. She also belonged to the American Bar Association Business Law Section, The Association of Continuing Legal Education, was a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and was an Accredited Attorney for Representation of Veterans through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Anita was committed to making a difference and giving back, and supported several organizations dedicated to the arts, helping the elderly and local communities. |
