2019 Futures Conference

This year, our conference theme is “In Tune with the Future,” and we will recognize that the future is already HERE. We'll showcase what some may deem to be cutting edge in the delivery of legal services, but for many are now just routine business practices. We'll tour innovations, practices, technologies and perspectives that have overturned decades of thinking about how legal services are consumed, purchased, delivered, managed, priced, and rewarded.

We're excited to be in Nashville – "Music City" – because it provides an excellent backdrop for demonstrating how an evolving industry can adapt and thrive. We'll learn how incumbents and disruptors in music have navigated their way through a fast-changing industry and see innovations that are making music more accessible – for musicians creating it, for consumers enjoying it, and for the many contributors along the way. The Futures programming will showcase the immense breadth and depth of talent found in the Fellows of the College of Law Practice Management. Many Fellows have been leading change for a long time, so we'll hear what they're up to today and learn what's next in the legal marketplace.

The conference will be hosted by and held at Belmont University College of Law on October 24-25, 2019. There is a half day of programming on Thursday, followed by an evening welcome reception where we will combine the Nashville music scene with law practice innovation. On Friday, there is a full day of programming followed by the 2019 Fellows Induction Ceremony and Dinner at our headquarters hotel.

Mark your calendars and plan to attend. And watch for hotel and registration details in the coming weeks.

Belmont University College of Law

The College of Law Practice Management is pleased to announce it will hold the 2019 Futures Conference in partnership with the Belmont University College of Law October 24-25, 2019. Located just two miles from downtown Nashville, Tennessee, Belmont is consistently recognized as a “Most Innovative” university.

The Randall and Sadie Baskin Center (pictured above) houses the law school. Opened and LEED certified in 2012, the Center sits atop a five-level underground parking garage. The law school has a two-story, state-of-the-art law library, a 21st century trial courtroom, an appellate courtroom and many other amenities.

After two years of single-topic conferences, this year we will return to the broader theme of the future of law practice management broadly defined. It's sure to be an intellectually stimulating event in a very entertaining city.
